Happenings and Goings On

Just a quick update on what’s been happening lately in the world of Terri.

I’ve been considering turning that which is my photoblog, http://www.cada-momento.com into a paid blogging site, since I need extra money for hosting and domain expenses, but I don’t particularly want it on my main blog. However, it’s also got to have a certain PR with Google, so I’m going to have to look into that a bit more.

Additionally, I’ve made another difficult decision, and that’s to deactivate my Despair.nu account.  As much as I was loving the comments and increased visitorship to my site, I wasn’t able to keep up with the comments I had to make due to working essentially what is two jobs and schoolwork.  While I don’t regret the decision, and I may return to it some day, it’s just practical for me right now to stick with the comments I get from regular visitors – there’s nothing to say that people commenting from Despair are going to be regulars.

In other news, things are generally okay – Michael and I have both looked into moving back to Tasmania so I can be closer to my family; while it’s not official yet it might be a viable option because of the amount of rent we’re currently paying.  For over $100 less we could be living in a similar sized, if not larger, apartment than we already are, and then have the money for a car and so forth on top of that.  So, it’s an option for us right now, but not to say that’s definitely what we’ll be doing.  What is for sure is that we need to get out of this house – it’s far too expensive for us at $300/week to maintain – we’ve not got any savings, just living paycheck to paycheck.  Which I really don’t like, because we have nothing to fall back on should one of us lose our job or otherwise.  BUT I know we’re not the only ones in this position, so I’m just trying to maintain a level head about it.

So, that’s about it I think, at least for now.  Just a footnote, if you have any interest at all in Paganism or Wicca, please at least just check us out at http://www.wise-ones.org and/or http://www.wise-learn.org.  We’d love to at least have you check it out, and join up if you’re interested in doing so.

Until next time…

Wowzers

It has been a while since I posted, huh? I say that every time, I know. Crazy. I’ve been pretty busy lately – I was sick last week as you know, but also some pretty exciting things have happened.

On Thursday or Friday last week I made contact with Serenity regarding her podcast, because I’d just restarted my own podcast at GeekWitch. We got talking and she let me know about open positions at the Tradition she founded, called The Path of the Wise Ones. It’s a non-profit, non-dogmatic, innovative and progressive pagan tradition that seeks to unite people of all spiritual paths in a unique new collective. Serenity offered me a voluntary position as Director of PR – I was a little hesitant but figured “What do I have to lose?” and so I accepted. Eventually it could turn into a full-time, paid position, which is really awesome, but even if it doesn’t, I’m still certain that this is what I want to be doing, because I really do enjoy it.

So essentially it’s been PR for PotWO and full-time work at my actual job; I’ve also got schoolwork due which is a pain in the ass but I hope to get that all done this weekend so that I don’t have to worry about it.

On Monday night I also had the pleasure of attending a concert by Wendy Rule at the 45Downstairs in Melbourne with my sister. Wendy’s performance was awesome, and she was the most lovely person ever! She made time for everyone who waited after the show to meet her, and signed CDs, and even had a photo with me – see here.

If you’re in the Phoenix (AZ) or surrounding areas, you might want to check Wendy out at the Chez Nous Cocktail Lounge on the 21st May 2008 – it’s at 915 Grand Ave in Phoenix – for more deets, go here and view it at original size.

I want to say Happy Mothers’ Day to all the mums out there – I unfortunately won’t get to see my mum on Sunday, but I will see her at the end of the month when my little brother has his 18th birthday.

So that’s about it – nothing really much else to talk about. Anything you want me to comment on or that kind of thing, let me know.
