My Beliefs

I believe in God... (by Inspirata [Terri])Around age 11, I watched one particular movie with my sister called ‘The Craft’, a film about four teen witches who discover their powers and seek their desires through magickal means – and not always to great result. My first reaction, of course, was that I wanted to be just like them; I wanted to change my hairstyle (having curly hair as a child was hell, to be honest!!!) and my eye colour. So I started researching.

The first website I found was on Expages, and had just the stuff I wanted. I tried changing my eye colour first, but nothing happened. So further research ensued, and I soon discovered that there was religious path called Paganism. I was completely shocked – here was so many websites describing what I already believed in; a worship of nature and belief in the Divine in all living things. This religion just oozed equality, tolerance and a belief for all that is real and beautiful in this world, and not focusing on where we will go when we die, but where we are now, and how we need to take responsibility for what we are doing now, before it’s too late. I soon self-dedicated myself to a path of Wicca, which I continue to follow to this day, and have indeed become very active in my Pagan lifestyle, including designing a website for Janet Farrar & Gavin Bone, working with the Proud Pagan Podcasters, being a columnist at The Pagan Activist and being very involved with the Tasmanian Pagan Alliance, Inc.
