As much as I loved the one from Reese, it wasn’t me – I need pink in my themes haha!
I really like this one from Amy & Pink – I have altered it a little, to suit me a little better and to work with what I thought would work, but I haven’t changed it that much. Hopefully reviewers like it
So I’m sitting here, waiting for my mouse to charge, since I’ve been on my computer pretty much all day. I unfortunately have to go to the doctor tomorrow, but it is to find out my blood test results, so I’m hoping something comes out of it, at least. Like I said before, I kind of hope they find something wrong (that’s treatable/curable, of course) just so I actually get some answers. But anyway, I shall let you all know how it goes.
New photo up in the corner there – I can’t believe it’s been 3 months to the day that I’ve had my hair cut. I really need to go get it redone, because I’m getting back into the habit of tying it back again (which is why I wanted to cut it in the first place, so I can wear it out more). Plus it looked way cuter in August, when it was freshly cut lol!
I’m trying to get more into my instant messengers again, since I’ve kind of dropped off the face of the planet in that aspect. I don’t know – does anyone use instant messengers as much as they used to? I guess they do; my brother is on there all the time, but I’ve noticed a whole lot of people I used to talk to all the time either are on but don’t talk to me, or they’re not on at all. I guess we’re all growing up and moving on with our lives.
Umm what else… I’ve applied for 3 jobs in the last two days, one of them being a legal secretary job, of which the ideal applicant description fits me to a tee, so I hope I can at least get an interview out of them. It totally sucks when you apply to so many places and they don’t even give you the opportunity of an interview. I think if you’re applying for a job, your application letter and resume are tidy, and you have at least some of the qualities that an employer is looking for, then you should be given an interview. Everyone deserves a chance, sheesh. Even if you’ve already made up your mind about someone, what if it falls through with them? No backup.
Now I’m rambling…
Off to Melbourne this weekend for Jonah’s 2nd birthday – holy crap, I can’t believe he’s two already! We’re having lunch at the Zoo, then I’ll be meeting up with my sister for some Christmas shopping while Michael goes out with his mates for the afternoon. We will then recongregate at the house for dinner. On Sunday, we’re going out for lunch with more friends, before heading home that night. Holy hell, it’s gonna be one whirlwind weekend (I’m going to be exhausted!). But should be fun, nonetheless. A lot of tension between the family, particularly me and the in-laws, has eased off since the move. I like it
Ok so I’ll finish up here before I continue babbling – see you after the weekend!
I should start by saying a huge congratulations to Barack Obama for winning the 2008 US Election, and also congratulations to the American people who finally voted the right way this time
I was very excited to hear that Obama was going to be the next President of the United States, and additionally thought that McCain was very gracious in his speech. Shame about the people who booed every time he mentioned Obama, but that’s besides the point. So the USA is on the road to repair after Hurricane Bush (no offence to any of you who’ve experienced or know people who’ve experienced hurricanes in the last few years), and I think the future looks a little brighter for everyone.
So back onto the mundane stuff – as is suggested by the title of this entry, not much has been happening in terms of my personal life. I still haven’t got a job, but I’m continuing to look. I have another potential website job in the works, which is great because it means a little extra cash-in-hand. Additionally, I’m working on getting another episode out for GeekWitch.org, so that I don’t have to worry about that for November. I’ve been having one or two spam issues at Inspirata Listings, but nothing I can’t handle, and my fanlistings have been growing by the dozen, so be sure to check them out.
In terms of the internet filter that I mentioned in my last entry, I haven’t really heard much more. I wrote to Minister Stephen Conroy, and to our local Member of Parliament, and although I’m not really expecting a reply, I’m expecting some sort of response (whether it be directly to me or a public thing). I will fight for this until it’s over, and hopefully it will end in a favourable manner.
Michael’s dad came over this weekend for a few days, to see Michael and to do a tour of some of Tassie, since he’s never been here before. It was a lot of fun: we ate lots of good food and drank good wine – good stuff.
We’ll be heading to Melbourne in two weeks to see my nephew for his 2nd birthday – it will only be for a weekend but it’s better than nothing, and then hopefully I should be hearing back from some of the jobs I’ve applied for, if I haven’t by then anyway. I am really starting to get antsy because the job I thought I’d be getting fell through, so I’m kind of pissed about that, but back up on my feet and moving on.
Anyway, I think that’s enough rambling. Just something to keep you updated until my next entry. I want to try to blog more (I know I say that all the time), but when I’m essentially sitting on my ass every day, there’s not really a whole lot to tell. Maybe you guys can give me some ideas?
Later
…with this site, I mean! I’ve put up a new layout (which I think is adorable!), so hopefully that will help keep my interest with blogging. It’s not that I don’t love to blog; things, as I mentioned in my last entry, have just been pretty hectic lately, and I’m just having trouble finding time for my recreational activities. Hell, I’ve barely messaged any of my Melbourne friends, and it’s been almost a month since we got here.
I’ll be heading down to the R.S.L. Club tonight, hang out with the ‘rents and take some photos, since it appears that I might be doing their website for them, which in turn means I might have a bit of money in my pocket very shortly. So I really want to make a good job of this, since it might be more work for me from that.
So sorry if there’s anything that looks skewy or anything right now up in here – let me know and I’ll fix it when I can.
Till next time…
Only 5 work days left.
Only 15 days till we move completely.
That’s all I have to say …
