House Plan

We’ve been in the new house for about 5 weeks now, and I only just realised I never posted a floorplan of the house with the photos, to give you an idea of the layout!

So, without further ado:

Phase Three of House Revamping: Complete!

The second part of the house that we’ve completed is our bedroom. I pretty much knew before we moved in what I wanted to do with it, and the outcome has just made me incredibly happy.

Before (ignore the mess, this was the night that we moved in):

The room is so much warmer and cozier now. There’s still a few things left to do – the carpet needs replacing, the trim around the door and skirting boards needs painting, the ceiling needs repainting, the picture rails need to go up (as they do in the hallway, too), and we’re replacing the light fitting with a pendant/chandelier-type light (not a huge fancy one, just a simple delicate one). I’d also like some new lamps, so that’s in the works too.
But I’m so much happier and more comfortable in our room now. I LOVE it!

Phase Two of House Revamping: Complete!

So the trim (being skirting and doorframes) is done! I’ve only done the hall-side of the door frames, seeing as the other sides will be painted as the rooms are painted, and I kind of want to paint the rooms before I do all the trim (i.e. paint the bedroom walls before the door frames). That way I can go around each room and do all the trim in one go.

Before (as seen in my last blog entry):

After (taken when it’s dark outside so it’s dark in here – used the flash though!):

Phase One of House Revamping: Complete

I painted the hallway today – this is only the first coat, I’ll have to do the second coat tomorrow (technically making this Phase 0.5 :P ). I LOVE this colour – it’s so happy and makes me feel happy when I see it.

The actual colour seems a lot brighter than this photo shows it to be. I LOVE IT!
